Our Process

  • Explore your brand.

Your business has a personality, an image, a personal style - and your blog should reflect that. We believe David Ogilvy, who once said: “Every advertisement should be thought of as a contribution to the complex symbol which is the brand image.” As a result, we work with clients to determine the types of blog posts they need to both align with their brand and entice their target customer.

  • Design the content.

The Father of Advertising also said, “What really decides consumers to buy or not to buy is the content of your advertising, not its form.” Sure, it’s a weird sentence, but it’s factual - especially today. Your customer may not need to see your ad in a legacy publication to trust you, or visit your website. Instead, let them judge you based on the quality of your content and message, rather than your high status positioning.

  • Articulate your value.

“The more informative your advertising, the more persuasive it will be,” said the man who changed advertising with his idea for “The Guinness Guide to Oysters.” We’ve taken this advice to heart, which is why every post we draft is focused on not only playing to the audience’s highest intelligence, but also educating customers on products or ideas in unexpected yet casual ways. In short: we avoid jargon, keep it simple, and teach rather than preach.

  • Make it pop.

“On the average, five times as many people read the headline as the body copy,” Ogilvy discovered through his extensive research. “When you have written your headline,” he insisted, “you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.” Of course, the value of a strong headline is even greater today, now that customers can scroll past them far faster than they could ever turn a page. If you work with us, you can be sure that your headline will not only attract the search engines, but also stop overactive thumbs mid-scroll.

Our Rates

To craft an effective blog post that is well-written and researched, we typically need five (5) hours on the clock (with both of us working in tandem). That said, each 10-hour sprint will include two (2) blog posts that are polished and ready to ship, all for $600. This includes brainstorming sessions, phone calls, research, revisions, meta data descriptions and social blurbs.

FAQs

  1. What industries are you familiar with?
Probably more than you'd want to read in a list, but some of our favorites are software & app development (along with Agile and Lean principles), Voice of Customer technology, FinTech, health & fitness, culinary arts, real estate, retail, photography and design.

  2. What do I need to get started?
Ideally, for each post you'd have a topic, an angle, an opinion, and a list of the relevant keywords you'd want to hit for SEO.

  3. What if I don't have that?
No worries. We can work with you to develop ideas or root out stories. If you'd like to hop on the phone, idea generation sessions are on the house.

  4. How is the work submitted?
All drafts are submitted for comments and suggestions via email. In addition to the draft, you'll receive a meta data description for your backend SEO, along with a social media blurb and any necessary links, citations or resources. Please note that publishing and promoting each piece is up to you and your team.

  5. Are there discounts if I buy in bulk?
You bet. Once a working relationship has been established and it's clear we're a good fit together, we can apply a 10% discount for 6-12 month retainers.
